Corowa Cricket Club’s coach for the past two season, Jack Thomas, permanently returned to Cornwall, England on Friday, April 12.
The Roos finished runners-up in the strong CAW competition in season 2023-2024 after finishing seventh the previous season.
“Jack was a great influence on the club, at all levels, on and off the ground,” club president Paul Lavis told The Free Press.“He really helped us get more organised.”
No decision has been made about the vacant coaching job at this stage.
“As Dan Smith (former state player with Corowa last season), said, it’s a big job for one bloke,” Mr Lavis said.
“We may have a few blokes sharing the coaching.”
Smith suffered a bad injury last season and is not likely to pad up again. But indications given to the president are that all other players will be back at Ball Park, including Australian star Dan Christian for at least a few games.
