Corowa-Rutherglen Football Club is excited to announce the signing of the 23-year-old local talent who will play the five games during the various school holidays.
“Tyler is an exciting young player, who played all of his junior football and started his senior career with Corowa,” new Roos’ coach Steve Owen told The Free Press.
“He’s a smooth moving midfielder who utilises his elite fitness to overrun his opponents.”
Tyler played 54 games for Corowa previously, where he was often in the best players. In 2022 he played with the Yeppoon Swans, in Queensland where he played 15 games, kicked 35 goals and was in the best 10 times, including being in the best in the Swans’ Grand Final win.
With employer Contarf in Weipa, Cape York, he works with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and is keen to help out Corowa Rutherglen wherever he can.
“I heard the club is in a tough sport at the minute and I want to help in any way I can, and especially the kids,” Spencer said.
“Tyler is keen to help build his home club back to where it belongs,” Owen said about the son of a gun Darrell Spencer who played 333 games with the Roos.
