At half-time of the sole Picola District Football League game between Tocumwal and Berrigan, the former may have been forgiven for thinking it was home and clear on its home deck.
Instead, the clash at Tocumwal Reserve quickly morphed into an absolute thriller, with the Saints overturning a 32-point deficit to carry on their unbeaten start to the year.
Tocumwal had the run of play in the first half with Flynn Tonks booting five goals and the likes of Brayden Hall, Lachlan McDonald and Ricky Gittens getting on top around the ground.
But after falling to a 33-65 deficit, Berrigan flipped the switch.
The Saints held Toc goalless for the entire second half while their own spread of goal-kickers, including Keith Tallent with three and a pair each to Max Tallent and Chris Nield, helped Berrigan get within three points at three-quarter time.
From there, a Jake Dalgliesh-inspired Saints slotted three final-quarter goals to seal their third straight victory.
When the entire PDFNL resumes, they’ll start atop the ladder.
For Tocumwal, its netball fortunes fared much better.
Toc kept its unblemished record intact with a convincing 36-goal victory over the Saints, leading from start to finish.
