The coaches would like to extend a big congratulations and well-done to those who participated in the the Yarrawonga Open Meet on January 8.
The club had four swimmers compete, but it was fabulous and exciting as usual.
Matilda and Natasha Doolan - well done! Competing in their first ever meet – Wow!
•Matilda came 6th in 50m free with a massive 11.9 sec PB.
•Natasha came 10th in 50m free in a new time of 1.01.95.
•Rylee, 5th in 400m free, first time in this huge event, very brave!
•Nicholas (swimming for Albury – Nick has membership with both Corowa and Albury under a special ‘border club’ arrangement) 1st in 100 free with a 3 sec PB, 2nd in 100 breast, 1st in 100 back with a 4.5 PB, and 2nd in 50 free with a 0.4 sec PB. And a spectacular win in the Skins sprint events, bringing home $50, showing how having access to extra training sessions can really make a massive difference.
Race Report – Combined Pennant held at Lavington, Jan 15
Corowa Sharks enjoyed a great meet at North Albury. Some fabulous swimming, great times, new PB’s and some very close to PB’s. The teamwork and support of one another at training and at meets is just so special.
For a small club, the Sharks sure can make a lot of noise. And the parents, what a team they make! Meets are always such a fun and fabulous time – thank you so much for all your contributions, support and making it so enjoyable for us and our kids!
Results
Alex, 7th in 100 Breast, 9th in 100 Free, 6th in 50 Breast.
•Sophia took 0.18 off her 50 Free, 10th in 50 Back, 11th in 200IM with a whopping 7.98 sec PB.
•Ethan, took a very nice 3.34 off his 50 Free, 1.31 off his 50 Back, and a massive 8.93 off his 50 Breast!
•Matilda, got her first time in 100 Breast at 2:12.31!
•James, took a huge 4.37 sec off his 50 free, and achieved his first time in 50 breast at 1:15:89.
•Katy, 12th in 50 Back, 10th in 100 breast and a huge 4.32 sec off her PB, 7th in 50 Breast just outside her PB.
•Rylee, got her first time in 200 Free at 3:27.56, took a big 3.65 off her 100 breast, a huge 6.11 sec off her 100 Free, and a new time in 200 Breast of 4:25.50 (yet to be confirmed).
•Nick, Finally achieved an official sub 30 in 50 Free coming in at 29.53, a 0.81 improvement, 3rd in 100 Breast, taking off a grand 4.43 sec, 4th in 100 Free and 4th in 100 Back.
•Then Ethan, James, Alex and Nick headed into the boys Medley, and Matilda, Sophia, Katy and Rylee into the girls Medley. The boys came home with a time of 3:21.73 and the girls 3:21.05. Girl power!
A special mention to Abbey who graciously joined the girls relay for GT as they were short one and enjoyed a great race and made some new friends!
