The younger girls were up against the seasoned Yack senior sides. C Grade pulled a number of girls up from U17’s who did themselves proud. Huge thanks to Liv who managed a few goals after being thrown into goals for C Grade. Thanks to everyone who has filled in or stepped out of their comfort zones to enable us to fill sides this year. Your efforts are appreciated.

Award Winners: Exterior Presentations – Abbie Hetherington, Rutherglen Pizza – Annie Johnson
Girls put in a good effort today coming out strong in the first half, unfortunately Yack was too strong pulling ahead in the third quarter to run away with the win. As always, girls put in 100% and finished the season with smiles on faces. Annie and Bree proved strong in defence with Abbie and Flick giving it all in the goal circle. Well done to all the girls this year and a big congratulations to Abbie Hetherington who was chasing down her 300th goal for the season and managed to finish on 302.

Award Winners: Tony Cooper Cash Award – Alexandra Gniel, Silverkey – Jo Somerville
Although the last game of the year was a loss, this doesn’t reflect how much this group of girls have improved and come together as a team.
Jo, Charlotte Violet and Abbey put up a brave effort against a strong attack, even though Jo thought a little soccer was OK at one stage.
Lucy, Charlotte and Sarah did well in the centre court producing some fantastic intercepts and fancy turnovers. Alex and Georgie worked well together in the goal circle scoring some super shots.
Overall, a great finish to a very tough season and a fantastic display of team spirit by the girls.
Lastly, huge shout out to the beautiful Alex who finished the season with 187 goals.
The last game of the season delivered a very cold, drizzly morning over at Yack making for cold fingers and a slippery ball.
Girls put in a solid effort despite the scoreboard and pushed hard for the entirety of the game. This group of girls should be so proud of their efforts this year.
With a wide range of ages and experience, they have really embraced each other to form a tight knit group always showing encouragement and support.
The club is proud and will miss everyone over the summer.
The drizzly conditions made for a difficult game but due to some great defensive work the girls held their own and played a ripper game.
Even though, the grade doesn’t officially score, some counting was going on and the girls thought they came away with a win. Thanks for the great season and will see you all again next year.
