Roos 35 def Wodonga Raiders 30
The game ebbed and flowed, and the score went one way and the other.
The Roos’ consistency in the second half was what ended up getting the win.
There were some great individual performances as the side’s connections on court build.
Awards: Sophie Hanranhan Club 1 and MVP, Indianna Frauenfelder Health Hub, Gabe McRae Canteen.
B Grade
Roos 37 def Raiders 36
B Grade’s Kiara Corkett and Lisa French.
B Grade’s pre-game chat honed in on some key focus areas for the team to execute to ensure there was no repeat of last week’s loss.
The first quarter did see the team get off to a slow start going into quarter time four goals down, however they had such determination to keep working hard to get the game back on its terms.
The second quarter built really well with a huge amount of defensive pressure across the court and rotations made accordingly to ensure the heat didn’t affect the Roos’ ability to keep moving the ball quickly.
Still down by four goals at half time the side went into the third with a lot of hunger to make it tough for Raiders.
Finally, at third quarter time the Roos were able to pull back within two.
The last quarter was a heart stopper when the scores became level and the team were able to get in front by one to pull off a great win.
A full ten-player team performance with all players contributing and making a huge impact on the result of the game!
Awards: Kiara Corkett (Club 1 & MVP) - her work in our attack end and shooting circle in such a high pressure game she was able to shoot some great goals. Courtney Haigh (Thrive Wellness), Chelsea Parker (Canteen).
C Grade
Roos 28 def v Raiders 41
C Grade Jenna Barnett and Steph Sutcliffe.
C Grade took on the second C Grade grand finalists on Saturday.
With some added strength from Jenni Vine and Steph Sutcliffe the girls came out strong and surprised the Raiders team.
Leading into the second quarter the girls felt the heat of the Easter Saturday and struggled to maintain momentum to keep the lead.
With a reset in third quarter the team continued their rotation but were unable to change the momentum of the game.
Chelsea was strong in the centre court driving hard on centre passes and working hard with Ava and Jemma in the centre.
Sophie continued to show her clear decision making in the attack end working the ring strongly with both Eloise and Steph.
Charlotte left nothing behind in her defensive effort in GD, adapting and working so well with Jennie Vine in GK, her consistent driving down the court helped bring the ball out of defence. Her footwork and rebounding were unrelentless and deserving of our club 1 award.
Awards: Charlotte Bott - Club 1 & MVP, Sophie Kennedy - Thrive Wellness, Chelsea Parker - Canteen award.

Roos 25 to Raiders 53
The 17s girls proved they have the ability to match it with the best on the weekend.
The scoreline definitely did not reflect the quality of the game and the performance the girls put out on court. The team is still working towards that 60-minute effort.
Awards: Bree Forrest (Origin) – set the tone early in defence with Sommers Hogan. Getting a lot of hand to ball with her quick feet and attack on the ball. Grace Milthorpe (The Hire Room & MVP) – had a quiet first quarter but persevered, adjusted her timing and provided great front holds. Grace combined nicely with Alex Gniel by staying confident and working hard all day against very tall defenders. Rahni Dickins (Canteen) – ran out the game in C, always providing drive in attack with great vision and quick release into the shooters. Rahni’s defensive game went up a level, contributing to the team’s multiple defensive turnovers.

Roos 15 to Raiders 71
The girls came against last year’s premiers, and it was a one-sided affair.
The team is continuing to experiment with new combinations. Keep working hard at training and you will reap the rewards for your efforts.
