Hosting at the Hardinge St Oval, the Rams are coming off a 17-point win against Rumbalara.
In contrast, Cobram is coming off narrow losses to Numurkah by 14 points and a two-point loss to ladder leaders Congupna in round four.
Rams seniors coach Ash Morris said their opponents this week are a strong running team.
“Cobram are a great running team so we are going to have to be good on defensive transition to make it difficult for them to score.”
Moreover, the Tigers have had a batch of recruits this season, including former AFL key-position player with Port Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs Jackson Trengrove.
“They’ve recruited well, and we will have a couple of plans in place to stop their full forward in Jackson Trengove,” Morris said.
The two sides have had even performances this year, as two of six league teams on three wins and two losses for the season so far.
Morris said he expects an even contest on the park this weekend as a result.
“Every game seems to be a grind at the moment.
“It’s the most even competition in the MFL league I’ve seen in my time, which is great for the spectators.”
Regarding the playing list, the Rams get back some star power but also have some forced changes ahead of round six.
“We’ll get Sam Lloyd and Lachie Small back, which will be great additions, however we lose Bailey Townsend and Jack Hay to concussion and a shoulder injury (respectively).”
