Moama’s unbeaten streak in the McMahon Shield has extended to eight with a two-day victory over Cooma at Moama Recreation Reserve at the weekend.

Setting the Two Blues 302 for victory after solid contributions from Fraser Buchanan (67 runs) and Anthony McMahon (56) on day one, the run chase never reached any great heights as Cooma was dismissed for 131.
Michael Hill came back to haunt his old side with the prized scalp of Brad Power in the fourth over, before Anthony McMahon struck twice to claim the wickets of Ethan Palma-Ludeman and Cooper Fawcett in the 11th to have Cooma in early trouble.
Jake Kelly was next to fall to McMahon but Cooma found some stability in the form of Matt Darvill and Rob Trewin in a 34-run partnership, one that was disrupted by Archie Teasdale to see Cooma slump to 5-70.
It was a position it never recovered from, although a daring late dash from Hugo Bell with 29 runs and Xavier Fawcett kept the scoreboard respectable.
Nonetheless, Moama won by 170 runs, sending a warning to the rest of the competition that it is the team to beat.
Moama faces Nondies-Cohuna in the last game of the year, while Cooma meets reigning premier Echuca.
