A total of 139 participants from Australia, including Macy, embarked on the Wanderer’s hockey tour of Fiji, which spanned from November 30 to December 12, 2023. The initiative aimed to showcase Australia’s junior hockey talent, with four junior teams, including two boys and two girls teams, competing against the Fiji A Girls Rep team.
Macy’s teams displayed exceptional skills, securing three wins and one draw in the four games played against the tough Fiji A Girls Rep team.
Macy’s spirited performance on the field earned her the title of the Player’s Player for the two Australian Junior girls teams.
Despite some bruises and battering, Macy’s passion for the sport shone through, capturing the hearts of her teammates and opponents alike.

The Fijian players have limited access to gear, so Macy kindly donated a stick, shin pads, shoes, training shirts and balls to new upcoming players - players in Suva might be spotted in Corowa Rutherglen United Hockey training shirts!
Following the tournament, Macy and her family seized the opportunity to extend their stay in Fiji, immersing themselves in the vibrant culture and picturesque landscapes for an additional week. The trip not only resulted in incredible memories but also fostered new friendships among players, all under the guidance of some of the most talented coaches in the Australian Hockey circuit.
“We are so proud of Macy for representing CR United, embodying the generous and passionate hockey spirit that runs deep through our club,” her club wrote in a statement on Facebook.
