The young Cats lost the toss and were sent into bat.
It was tough going as Katty bowled and fielded well.
James Winn provided an anchor opening the batting.
He top-scored for the match with 41 not out.
However, outside of a couple of partners, the batters found it difficult to bat around James, who “carried his bat”.
The best bowling figures went to Riley Thompson, who cleaned up the tail with three for 12 off five overs.
Finley finished all out for 105 runs off 39.3 overs.
Finley’s turn to bowl was next in the two-dayer, and the boys tried really hard.
Katty started well with the bat, and Finley had to work for their wickets.
After a good stint with the ball Riley, who was named player of the match, top-scored for Katty with 34 off 51 balls.
The high strike across the batting order was the main issue for Finley.
The Tigers chased the 106 required for victory off 26.3 overs with five wickets in hand.
Finley Cricket Club President Cameron Isedale said Finley did well across the season to finish on top of the ladder.
“Unfortunately for the Cats, Katty was a bit better on the day, he said.
“Our boys should be very proud of the year and how far they made it.”
