This was a close game early with Rennie being able to counteract Tungamah’s attempts to switch across half back with strong pressure on the ball carrier.
Down by 7 at quarter time, Rennie switched off early in term 2 and the Bears were able to kick 4 unanswered goals with a late snag bringing the deficit to 29 at the long break.
The Hoppers kicked 3 goals in term 3 and were able to outscore the locals with Freeman on ball providing drive and Cope on his wing and Shaw playing a defensive role being fine contributors. Unfortunately, the game blew out in term 4 with Tunga winning by 59 points.
Bruce kicked 3 and Strawhorn 2, with the Hoppers best served by Ax Wilson, Coach Fountain and Freeman.

The Hoppers were not in this game at any stage and were easily defeated. Long kicked the only goal with youngster Lewis, the consistent Bone, Woodward and skipper Ferguson being the few shining lights.
