Grand final for under 16 Roos

It’s an exciting week for the Corowa Rutherglen Junior Football Club in the final week of AWJFL for season 2024.

This coming Sunday, August 25, the CRJFC under 16s will play the Wodonga Raiders at Birrallee Park Wodonga at 1:20pm.

It will be a tight game with a high standard expected from both the top two teams of the AWJFL!

Roos’ captains Benji Hanrahan and Jayden Forge will lead the team out as they attempt to become the first junior team from Corowa Rutherglen to win a flag in well over a decade.

It would be great to see as many people from the Corowa district come and support as we can get. The under 16s faced off in the AWJFL 2024 GF as well. The level of talent in our area continues to shine!

With the AWJFL league vote on Monday night, Tex Longmire was awarded the leading goal kicker in the Under 16s with 62 goals.

There were a number of Junior Roos players in the top 10 from each of the three teams. Three players in Under 16s were placed in the top 10, Tex in 4th, Benji Hanrahan in 6th and Jayden Forge in 7th. Will Massey was placed 3rd in the under 14s and Blair Livingston-Laing placed 6th in Under 12s. Fantastic effort from them all!

The CRJFC vote count and presentation night will be held on August 30 at Corowa Civic Centre.
