Ben Bryant capped a superb season by taking out the A-grade batting, bowling and champion player awards.
Eastern Hill Cricket Club recognised its best and brightest last Friday night when it held its 2024-25 presentation night at the Seymour Club.

Ben Bryant was the big winner on the night, claiming the A-grade batting, bowling and champion player awards in a side that finished runner-up in its first ever season in the Gisborne and District Cricket Association.
Riley Graham also took home multiple awards, claiming the B-grade bowling award and the champion player award, with Michael Brown was the batting award recipient for B-grade.
However, Chris Russell had the biggest haul of all, scooping the batting, bowling and champion player awards for C-grade, while also taking out the coveted best club person award.
A pair of young guns couldn’t be split in the race for the rising star MVP award, with Max Fulton and Baxter Loweke tying for the honour after brilliant seasons.
In the under-14 side, Harley Pearce and Breanna Lane took home the bowling and batting awards respectively and Jack D’Elia won the all-rounder award, while Matilda Ingard claimed the coaches award and Nic Lynch was named most improved.

The future is bright at Eastern Hill, with under-14 cricketers Matilda Ingard (coaches award), Harley Pearce (bowling award) and Breanna Lane (batting award) scooping awards for their performances throughout the season.
