Corowa’s two new senior coaches

Corowa Rutherglen Football Netball Club’s 2024 presentation night was held last Friday at Club Corowa, with the highest individual awards going to Ryan Eyers and Sally Hunter. About 200 people attended the glamorous night with two big announcements about two senior coaching appointments.

C Grade award winners with team manager Rowena Black (left) and Grace O’Brien (right) were: Talia Goddard – Coach’s award, Jemma Smith - B&F, Vic Borg - Most Consistent, Steph Sutcliffe - runner up.
17s and under winners, pictured with coach Sophie Hanrahan (left) were Keeley Symonds – Coaches award, Alex Gniel - Most Consistent (Jemma Smith - assistant coach): Absent: Audrey Hogan - B&F and Sommers Hogan - runner up.
Under 15’s winners with coach Kiara Corkett (left) were Millie Eales - runner up B&F, Grace Milthorpe- B&F winner, Maddie Ryan - Coaches award and Charlotte Seal - Most Consistent.
Thirds awardees included Jack Keys - Most Consistent, Luke Nicholson - B&F - Juice Kingston Award and Ella Kingston who presented the award on behalf of her family.

Reserves winners were Will Bott - Most Determined, Jed Ansell - Coaches award, Jack Keys - Runner up B&F, Kayne Quirk - Most Consistent, Tommy Young - B&F winner, Sam Haigh - Coach and third placed, Ben Black - Coaches award (Greg Filliponi - team manager) and Aaron Spencer - kneeling - Encouragement award.
The inaugural Craig Spencer Reserves B&F winner was Tommy Young who was presented with the special award by Craig’s brother Darrell Spencer.
Trainers Reg Moloney, Gary Cook, Judd Kuschert, Rebecca Kuschert and Ernie Talarico were pictured with Brendan and Linda Eyers who won the The Trevor Kuschert Trainers Award.
It was a big award-winning night for the Eyers family. The Trainers Award went to Brendan and Linda Eyers, Brodie at left won Most Determined in the Thirds, Ryan was Senior Best and Fairest, and Jordan won Most Improved in the seniors.
Special awards were presented to Judd Kuschert (350 game ball on behalf of Kade), Joe Hansen (150 game ball and MVP), Jordan Eyers - Most Improved, Ryan Eyers - Jim Sandral B and F, Tom Forrest - Best First Year player, Sam Dunstan - Leading Goal Kicker (kneeling; 51 goals, 42% of team’s goals and was very good for the club) and Steve Owen – Coach.

Kylie Greig received the Mick Houlihan Volunteer of the Year and was pictured with Rowena Black and Graham Hosier.

Former Sydney star of 12 years and 244 games including the 2005 premiership, Daryn Cresswell, will coach Corowa Rutherglen for at least 2025 and 2026.
