The Roos travelled to Albury to take on the top four side Tigers.
The home side were out of the blocks quickly and had two goals scored within a couple of minutes.
The Roos knuckled down and held their own for the remainder of the term and went into the break three goals down but with some momentum.
The second quarter saw our kids trying their hardest but were a little too small against the well drilled Tigers.
The backline was under fire and stood up through vice captain Will, Rydah and Amelliah, who was in everything. The midfield group of George, Ollie, Blair and Franco were trying hard in defence as well.
In true Roos spirit, the kids were hard at the ball which unfortunately led to a collision between Rydah and Ollie who both had to come for a spell.
In the third quarter, our up-and-coming players really put their hands up. Maxwell went into the ruck and did a great job, including a running goal which was his first for the season.
Tyler Mullavey had a sensational term and played his best game for the season. Kai Arnold was also playing a great game and Billy Hunter was a constant as well.
In the last quarter, the kids threw everything at their opponents, but the bigger, quicker opposition were able to kick another three goals to run the match out, comfortable winners.
Final scores were Albury 11-9-75 to Corowa Rutherglen 1-3-9.

Under 14s
On another perfect day for football, the Roos Under 14s travelled to the Albury Sportsground to take on the undefeated Tigers.
Coaches Parker and Patton have been priming the boys for weeks for this encounter and what a contest it turned out to be.
The first quarter was fiercely contested with enormous pressure being applied by both teams.
The Roos had the ascendency in the midfield with Levi "Puppy" Arnold racking up possessions and Josh "Roy" Parker and big Will "Mass" Massey doing a lot of heavy lifting to continually drive the ball forward for the Roos. Both backlines were holding firm, and the quarter time margin was 1 point in favour of the Tigers.
The second quarter was just as intense, and the Roos pressure and tackling was really troubling the top of the table Tigers. Huddo "Kush" Kuschert was starting to exert his influence in the middle and across half back and his partner in crime Will "Fozz" Forrest dominating when in defence and also hitting the scoreboard when moved into the midfield. Cooper "Coop" Patton was repelling many Tiger attacks, Josh Hunter, Jaxx "Dominator" Johnstone, Jake "Wizza" Witherden and Harry "Webby" Webb were defending brilliantly under enormous pressure. The half time siren sounded with the Roos just 6 points down and the game in the balance.
The arm wrestle continued in the third quarter with both teams relentless with their pressure and attack on the football. Abe "Darrell" Spencer was getting plenty of the footy on the wing and driving it forward and Eli "Eeze" Bonnitcha, Ben Osep, Huddo Bilney and Leo Davis were working overtime to keep the ball trapped in our forward 50.
Nate "Nateo" Jones was proving a handful for the Tiger’s defence and Darcy Upton pulled down some strong marks to provide a great option up forward.
Archie "Housey" House was providing a great target up forward before being deployed to full back in the last quarter.
At three quarter time the Tigers were leading by 12 points but were rightfully worried the tenacious Roos could over run them in the last quarter.
Blaire Livingston-Lang who had already played a great game in the under 12’s came on to replace an injured Huddo Bilney at three quarter time.
The last quarter was a ripper with the Roos continually hitting the scoreboard and closing in on the Tigers only for the home side to find a goal to keep their noses in front.
The siren sounded with the Tigers holding a 12-point win.
The Roos effort was outstanding and although disappointed not to get the win, Coaches Parker and Patton are now convinced that the boys can mix it with any team in the competition. The Roo boys are now keen to get back to work on the track to find the little improvements that will help them reverse the result in the second-round encounter.
Final score Albury 8-1-49 to Corowa 6-1-37
