The B2 side celebrate their win at the RSL Club.

Mid-week Pennant

The B1 side played Swanpool in the preliminary final at Wangaratta and had a 12- shot win.

Gary Turner, Lynne Mills, Anne Summerill and Dave Lewis won 19-17. Lex Thornton, Susie Swift, Gary Brown and Alan Holmquest won 24-18. Dom Carroll, Janet Davis, Justin Robb and Les Pilfoot won 27-23.

We now have two teams into the grand finals to be played on 7th March.

The A2 play side play Corowa Civic at Wangaratta and the B1 side play Mansfield, also at Wangaratta.

Weekend Pennant- Grand Finals

Corowa RSL Bowls also had two teams into the weekend pennant grand finals, a great achievement for the club.

The A2 side played Wodonga at Corowa Civic and went down by 18 shots.

Judy Black, Justin Robb, Brenton Ketchell and Jordan Thornton won 21-18. Rod Garthwaite, Raz Porter, Andy Dickins and Jim Walker won 18-14. Maree Jones, Tony Coughlin, Allen Bartlett and Troy Brockley lost 13-20. Keith Mills, Peter Summerill, Ray McLarty and Hayden Brockley lost 13-31.

The B2 side played Yarrawonga, also at Corowa Civic and had a decisive win with 33 shots up. Congratulations to the B2’s.

Roly Nixon, Julie Holmquest, Greg Keyte and Jeff Nixon won 31-8. Ros Lewis, Sam Nixon, Frank Gee and Les Pilfoot won 17-14. Ray Bourke, Darryl Brown, Wendy Robb and Peter Mills won 20-14.

While two of our sides played at Corowa Civic, we hosted the A1 and the B3 grand finals at our club. These games drew a big crowd to the RSL Club greens, and the club received positive comments on the facilities provided.

Consistency Singles

The semi-finals in the ladies saw two very close games: Lynne Ewison lost to Judy Black and Anne Summerill defeated Julie Holmquest. The ladies’ final will be between Anne and Judy this Friday.

In the Men's quarter finals Lex Thornton lost to Alan Holmquest; Tony Coughlin defeated Greg Keyte; Gary Brown defeated Allen Bartlett; Keith Mills defeated Raz Porter.

Pairs

The men's final is between the teams of Hayden Brockley and Jordan Thornton versus Tony Coughlin and Raz Porter.

The ladies’ final is between the teams of Maree Jones and Laurie Way versus Wendy Robb and Anne Summerill, and will be played Saturday.

Mixed Pairs

First round matches were played on Sunday, March 5. The results are; Maree Jones and Raz Porter defeated Rhonda Clark and Darryl Brown; Ketch and Susie Swift defeated Laurie Way and Andy Dickins; Rosemary Baddeley and Allen Bartlett defeated Lynne and Ross Ewison; Lynne and Keith Mills defeated Roly Nixon and Judy Black; Robyn and Tony Fierenzi defeated Janet and Peter Mills. The final match between Janet Davis and Roger Mathers versus Pam Lee and Garry Neill will be played Wednesday.
