The A2 side travelled down the road to play our near neighbours, Corowa Civic. on Tuesday, November 29. After a slow start they eventually came away with a 10-shot win. Allen Bartlett won 25-19, Raz Porter lost 22-25 and Andy Dickens won 24-17.
The B1 side played Swanpool at home and had a good win, with a 33 shot margin. Dave Lewis won 24-16, Alan Holmquest won 30-19 and Anne Summerill won 28-14.
The B2 side had the long road trip to Corryong and had 2 rinks up but still went down by 6 shots. Roly Nixon won 21-14, Peter Mills won 20-13 and Frank Gee lost 8-28.
Weekend Pennant
the A2 team travelled to Benalla and had a narrow loss, going down by 1 shot overall on Saturday, December 3. Raz Porter had an 18 all draw, Troy Brockley went down 19-30, Jordan Thornton went down 17-19 and Jim Walker won 25-13.
The A4 and B2 sides both played YMGCR at home, The A4 side had a good win, getting up by 13 shots: Barry Warburton won 21-12, Sam Nixon won 22-12, Lorraine Carmody won 23-16 and Susie Swift lost 6-19.
The B2 side went down by 9 shots. Peter Mills lost 16-19, Les Pilfoot won 17-15 and Julie Holmquest lost 13-21.
Barefoot Bowls
Two social groups used our facilities on Saturday, December 3 for their Christmas parties. Barefoot bowls continues to be offered every Thursday evening from 6pm to 8.30pm. Bookings are not required, and equipment is available.
On Thursday, December 1, 18 bowlers came along for the monthly BBQ and game of triples. The winners after 12 ends were the team of Judy Black, Elke Upton and Sandie Hunter. Well done ladies.
Club Singles
The semi-finals of the men’s competition will be played this Thursday, December 8at 3.30. Peter Summerill plays Tony Coughlin and Allen Bartlett plays Rod Garthwaite.
The lady’s grand final will be played between Judy Black and Maree Jones after Maree defeated Anne Summerill 25-16.
