The A2 side travelled to Wangaratta to play Wodonga in the qualifying final and came home with an 8 shot win. This sends them straight through to the grand final on March 5.

The B1 side had the short trip to Corowa Civic to play Tungamah in the qualifying final. They also had an 8 shot win and go straight through to the grand final.

Weekend Pennant Results for Feb 24
The A1 side played YMGCR at Rutherglen in the preliminary final. The margin was 8 shots for most of the game but YMGCR finished too strongly for our side and finished 14 shots up. It was a high-quality game and finishing third in their first year back in the A1’s was a terrific effort by our players.

Club Championships
Men's Pairs
The final of this event was played last Thursday evening, watched on by a big crowd enjoying camaraderie and pizzas. Hayden Brockley and Jordan Thornton played Tony Coughlin and Raz Porter for the third year running. This year Hayden and Jordan were able to turn the tables and win. The game was close in the early stages, then Jordan and Hayden drew away to a 6- shot lead going into the last end. The final score was 18 to 10. It was a great night’s entertainment of high- quality bowls.
Ladies Consistency
Anne Summerill defeated Judy Black; Julie Holmquest defeated Rhonda Clark. Julie and Anne will play off in the final.
Men’s Nixon Handicap
Peter Summerill defeated Les Pilfoot. The semi-finals will be Darryl Brown versus Peter Summerill and Alan Holmquest versus the winner of Lex Thornton and Brenton Ketchell.

Ted Hovard Memorial Best Pennant Player Count.
This was held at Club Corowa on Sunday 25th February. Members attended a general meeting which was followed by a light lunch, the Calcutta and vote count. The weekend count was very close, with Susie Swift the winner with 9 votes and Jordan Thornton the runner-up with 8 votes. Jenny Hovard presented Susie with a medallion and the Ted Hovard Memorial Perpetual trophy. In the mid-week count, Maree Jones won with 8 votes and Ken Widdison and Brenton Ketchell tied for 2nd with 7 votes each.
