The pair won the foursomes title and the Kennedy-Iverach Perpetual Trophy with best scratch score of 134 for the 27 hole championship, edging out Gail O'Halloran and Penny Graeber from Howlong with 136.
Louise and Jan also had the best Division 1 net score with 117.5, beating 20 pairs in the division. Around 50 pairs competed in the event.
It's the first time Louise has won the event. Jan, and Bernie McLean, won the same event at Corowa in 2019.
Louise’s handicap is nine while Jan plays off 12. “It’s very exciting to have my name on the silverware," Louise, a casual employee in the pro shop told The Free Press.
"We were surprised by our consistency over 27 holes."
Both ladies are keen golfers at Corowa and like to play in competitions around the district. They praised the course at Commercial Albury. “It was presented in good condition and the weather was perfect," Louise said.
"Our local club championships are coming up at the end of May and I hope to be still playing well then."
Corowa Golf Club’s director of coaching James Gordon was excited about the win. “It’s great to see our ladies represent our club and even better to have won the event,” he said.
In other news, Jan and Louise played pennant golf for Corowa last Friday, competing at Black Bull, Yarrawonga against the home side. The home side were too good for Corowa, winning four games to one, putting Corowa out of the finals running.
