North Albury 53 def Corowa Rutherglen 41
Whilst we didn’t get the win, there were a lot of positives to pull out of the game on Saturday.
A big shout out to A grade had a fast and contested game against North Albury. A slower start from our A grade saw North have momentum in the first half of the game however after half time we started to implement our game plan and apply pressure which resulted in turnovers across the court.
Our awards went to; Sally Hunter - Club 1: such a strong presence and voice worked tirelessly throughout the game producing turnovers and rebounds.
Remi Longmire - Essential Beauty: only her second game in A grade however she stepped up and gave impressive defensive pressure and match the speed of the North Albury midcourt.
Awards: Canteen & MVP - Brooke Cannon: another solid performance from Brooke today as she provided the settle, experience and versatility needed in our midcourt today.

What a game to watch! The first couple of minutes of each quarter the girls settled into the game then set the pace and chipped away for the entire four quarters.
Prioritising possession, good decision-making and timing on their drives, and controlled passes were key to their success.
They quickly transitioned into a strong defensive pressure across the whole court, often resulting in turnovers.
It was tight on the scoreboard all day with only 1-2 goals separating the teams at each break.
The girls fought through the fatigue in the last quarter to take a one goal win against the top team!
Awards could’ve easily gone to 8 players on the day with an incredibly team effort from everyone.
Club 1 & MVP went to: Eloise Black who is our ever-reliable tall target shooter in the ring, sinking 30 from 37 goals.
Awards: Origin Clothing: Courtney Haigh had a great day in defence pulling in lots of intercepts throughout the game. Her talk to the defenders was phenomenal in working together to increase defensive pressure as a team. Canteen: Remy Longmire came on composed and was the change in pace from defence to attack that we as coaches asked for. Her drive to the ball was unstoppable, along with her balanced feeds into attack.

C grade played a quick and consistent North Albury team which saw us go down.
With strong passages of plays at times, we know we can do it if we keep each other accountable and stay disciplined in our game play.
During this game we got to trial different combinations and see where our next area of development will be.

Unfortunately, we went down by 2 but it was an awesome effort by the 17s.

15s have been working on keeping their positive energy high throughout the entire game lately.
They were proud to have done this again this week. We weren’t consistent enough to get the win this week, but when we were playing our game, we had unbeatable timing, angles, connection and finished off our drives completely.
Awards went to: Club 1: Lilyana Murray-Wright who was solid under the ring and patient on her holds. Sportspower: Grace Milthorpe who stepped up, created drive and connected well with Mille Eales on our centre passes. Canteen: Charlotte Seal who was a quiet achiever putting into action everything she was asked to do throughout the game. MVP: Kaitlin Baker
