U14s and U16s celebrate stellar season

The Corowa Junior Basketball Club wrapped up its second year with an exciting presentation on Sunday, December 15, celebrating the achievements of its U14s Power and U16s Wildcats teams.
Despite falling just short of grand final victories against formidable Wodonga opponents, both teams delivered outstanding performances this season, cementing their status as key players in their respective divisions.
Grand Final highlights
Both the U16s Wildcats and U14s Power made it through to their division’s grand finals, a testament to their hard work and determination.
Although neither team clinched the championship title, their valiant efforts were praised by coaches and supporters alike. Coach Manager Harold Hall highlighted the U14s Power’s spirited fight against a dominant opponent, describing their tenacity in the closing minutes as “nothing short of excellent.”
U16s Wildcats season recap and awards
The U16s Wildcats faced a challenging season but staged an incredible comeback in the latter half. Their decisive semi-final victory showcased their resilience and teamwork, setting up a thrilling grand final match against the top-ranked Breakers. Despite their best efforts, the Wildcats were defeated.
Coach Harold Hall commended the team for their remarkable progress and determination throughout the season.

Coach Hall expressed pride in all the U16s teams achievements and optimism about their future in basketball.
U14s Power season recap and awards
The U14s Power delivered a solid season, demonstrating exceptional teamwork and strategic play.
Their grand final performance was a nail-biter, losing by only five points in a game that kept spectators on the edge of their seats.
Coach Jamie Kremmer praised the team’s cohesive efforts and individual growth, noting the significant contributions of each player:
•Cooper Gerhard: Strong on both offense and defence, driving the ball effectively.
•Marshall Lees: Key scorer and technical playmaker, sinking crucial shots.
•Joshua Kremmer: Top scorer and team leader, using his size to dominate the court.
•Axel Morris & Finn Le Lievre: Fast-paced runners with numerous steals and relentless pressure.
•Miles Keenes: Most improved player, excelling in screening, passing, and ball-handling.
•Harrison Logie: A force under the hoops, excelling in rebounds and scoring.

Coach Kremmer thanked Josie Keenes for stepping in as assistant coach during his absences. He also wished Joshua Kremmer, Harrison Logie, and Cooper Gerhard the best as they move up to the U16s next season.

The Corowa Junior Basketball Club extended heartfelt gratitude to parents, volunteers, and supporters for their unwavering dedication throughout the season.
With two strong years under its belt, the club is excited to continue fostering young talent and looks forward to another successful season in 2025.
