Another well fought game against a very competitive opponent. Similar story to last week, the girls held on for three quarters staying relatively even after each break. But it was a few of our own errors that led to a 12 to 7 last quarter that saw Rovers run out winners.
Our B Grade is a very new team with a mix of youth and experience. No doubt, with a few more games under their belt as a team they will start to see the wins fall their way.
Kiara Corkett led by example as always, providing positivity and voice coupled with her strong drives in attack.
Steph Sutcliffe stood tall in the goal ring, holding strong and pulling in some amazing feeds.
Chloe Gilchrist paired well with Steph in attack, finding some great space and creating dynamic movement in the ring. We love her never-say-die attitude!
C Grade had a slow start allowing a few unanswered goals in the first quarter but adjusted and kept goal for goal for the rest of the game.
Our strongest quarters were our second and third where we utilised our tall shooters in Maddi Simmons and Eloise Black who presented well and began shooting with confidence.
Remy Longmire had another strong game leading the mid-court to create some great passages of play.
Victoria Borg moved her feet well in the ring to keep the shooters on their toes. In the fourth quarter, we took our foot off the petal defensively down the whole court, allowing Rovers to make some quick goals and capitalise on turnovers.
We look forward to seeing them again on our home turf and showing them how we can pull together four strong quarters.

In wet conditions from the get-go, our team worked hard, sticking to our players and sending them wide.
A team effort with lots of positive passages of play and defensive pressure down the court was high. A loss to a quality Rovers outfit, we look forward to facing them again to reduce the margin.
Awards: Katelin Baker - a player who always gives her all and leaves nothing on the court. She stays mentally engaged in the play and has her player in arms reach at all times.
Sienna Sampson - who took on the challenge, playing out of position and never took a step backward, constantly reassessing her game.
Lilyana Murray-Wright - who showed great mental strength and resilience across the game. Shifting to defence to change up the defence end and shift momentum.
