To secure a victory against Mathoura this week, the Bears senior team was well aware that they needed to elevate their performance and maintain a high level of play throughout all four quarters.
Despite the formidable challenge posed by the 50km gale force winds, the boys displayed relentless determination until the very end.
It was a welcomed sight to have Ben Beaton back in action after being absent for a few weeks, providing stability to the backline.
Al Reilly's unwavering commitment and impressive performance in the ruck continues to astound week after week.
With only two rounds remaining, the boys must persistently push themselves to have a chance in finals.

Reserves
Mathoura 1.2.8 def by Tungamah 15.14.104.
Well it was a scalpers nightmare with the lunch time legends making the road trip to Mathoura.
‘Patches’ must have taken the good weather north with him, with the cloud cover threatening to leave the boys sopping wet.
Boomerang Saunders was finally back and keen to make an impression, unfortunately the memo wasn’t shared with the other midfielders.
As he convinced himself it was probably a lack of game time, Malique Beer rolled into the centre, handing out yet another slap in the face, as he walked out with a power of centre clearances.
By this point the only thing hotter than the steam rolling out of Saunders ears was the statisticians pen as he tried to keep pace with Ellis and Kelly.
If these blokes put any more separation in the vote count, the team will be hiring a divorce lawyer.
Banger Thomson stopped more exchanges than the recent global IT outage. In similar fashion Muzz was swatting away advances.
Everyone (other than the seniors coaches) were stoked to see Smitty back in the prime time slot, he was making sure the boys where getting some quality service.
Damo Walker hemmed in on the boundary, deep in defence displayed about as much thought as goes into an Adam Sandler movie as he wheeled away from the boundary and tried to switch one across goals, despite kicking into a 400 goal breeze.
He will still hit the stat sheet for a goal assist though!
Not to be out done, Xander Smith from a similar angle (albeit in our forward line) punching it right.
Goals: J Henderson 6, J Jones 2, J Doig 2, M Goldman 2, X Smith, M Beer, J Costigan.
Best: J Jones, J Doig, D Murray, J McQualter-Whyte, D O’Brien, J Williams.
Thirds
Mathoura 0.3.3 def by Tungamah 13.28.106.
Taking on Mathoura in extremely cold and windy conditions, Tunga's defence led by Kade and Archie held strong.
The team controlled the ball well and made smart decisions, with the midfield performing effectively.
With more of a wind advantage, Tungamah focused on pushing the ball forward aggressively. Unfortunately, this quarter the Bears flooded the forward line, minimising their scoring opportunities.
Tunga regrouped in the third quarter, highlighted by a great tackle from Jack and a strong performance from Kaiden.
They continued to dominate possession and dictate play. Starting the final quarter strong, Tungamah capitalized on their dominance in the ruck, seeing some strong passages of play. They maintained their momentum throughout, ultimately securing a victory over Mathoura.

On one of the chilliest and windiest days thus far in the year, the boys ventured outside, determined to avoid the risk of hypothermia.
They exhibited their skills in yet another remarkable game, with every player getting a chance to actively participate.
Due to Mathoura's shortage of players, the Bears benchwarmers had the opportunity to stay warm and contribute to the opposing team.
It was during this game that Ty Dickinson skillfully scored a goal and was rewarded with $20 from the coach.
The football match was a delightful and spirited affair, enjoyed by all involved.
