The annual wool show was held in conjunction with the Agricultural Show. Once again with the support of the farmers, 56 fleeces went before Judge – Rex Bennett from Elders.

Congratulations to the winners and hopefully the Lions Club will see you all again next year. Many of the farmers have been supporting Lions since the shows inception – 60 years ago.

This event is only possible with the help of members who work in the industry and are in contact with the farmers.

Andrew Toms and Rob Glover source fleeces and then present them for classing and judging. This all happens at the Lions clubrooms which is known as the Wool Pavilion at the Showgrounds.

Once the fleeces have been judged they are then put on display for the public to see.

A presentation of prizes and ribbons is performed to farmers after the Grand Parade. At the conclusion of the event fleeces are pressed and baled and made ready for transportation to auction.

The proceeds from the sale of the wool this year will be shared with local CFA units.

Every year Elders supports this event by donating funds which enables the purchase of gift vouchers for lucky winners.

They also supply bunting and signage which helps decorate the display. Thank you again Elders.

Lions Nora, Judy, John, Gavan and Ollie ready to serve up Oktoberfest delights.

The catering team once again took on an Oktoberfest theme and played “oom pah pah” music which helped drown out the noise from one of the local rides.

Members got in the theme of things wearing German style aprons and hats and selling German sausages with sauerkraut and mustard.

The club put up a photo banner which the kids loved. Once again the Lions were fortunate to have Tim Roadley with a kids activity. This year it was Yarn Sheep which proved very popular.

You never know where Tim will pop up – Thanks Tim.

Thank you to members for all their hard work prior and during the event. Lions are there to support the community and have fun.

There was definitely a lot of fun had at the show, and sore bodies afterwards.
