Wahgunyah students mark day

“Our school places a lot of significance on ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day,” Mr Reid said. 

“This year’s Remembrance Day provided us with a second opportunity to take our students to the cenotaph to mark what is such an important occasion. 

“Our four school captains took on the responsibilities of running the service with some members of the community proudly watching on from a safe distance.”

In previous years, the school captains have participated in the Rutherglen Remembrance Day service, however the school now plans to hold future services in Wahgunyah.

“After discussions with Alan Pleitner (Indigo Shire’s Citizen of the Year) regarding how lovely it was having something in Wahgunyah, we are already making plans to hold a Remembrance Day Service at the Wahgunyah Cenotaph from now on with the whole school in attendance,” Mr Reid said.
