The evening, which will feature entertainment by The Voice’s Matt Hetherington and award-winning singer Nina Ferro, is an opportunity for businesses to network and relax.
To be held on Wednesday, June 14, the event starts at 6pm at the Campaspe Valley Community Centre (CVCC) in Edward St.
Hetherington rose to prominence as a contestant on the first series of The Voice Australia. He has appeared in musicals Next to Normal, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and The Full Monty.
He was part of Team Delta in a series that was won by Karise Eden and Team Seal.
In 2022 he performed a season of The Who’s — Tommy at the Palais in St Kilda (playing Captain Walker).
He recently played impresario Harry M Miller in Judy Australia — 1964 as a part of Melbourne’s Midsumma Festival.
While in the US, Matt guest starred in the critically acclaimed TV comedy The Detour on the TBS network.
Organisers of the Rochester event said it would also provide time to acknowledge the hard work and challenges experienced during the past seven months.
Campaspe-based performers Evie Scoble, Glenda Bancell, Paul Colivan and Mat Anderson will kick-start the entertainment and lead into the feature event with Matt Hetherington and Nina Ferro.
Melbourne-based Nina Ferro is a multi award-winning soul singer, songwriter, session and recording artist.
She is considered by her peers and audiences among Australians top vocalists, sharing her time between Australia and the United Kingdom as a dual citizen of Italian parentage.
Nina has built an international following of fans and is in high demand locally and abroad. Having lived in London for a decade, Nina divides her time between Australia and the UK.
Her performance of the Australian National Anthem at the 2022 AFL Grand Final gained widespread reviews, while she also performed live at the Sydney 2000 Olympics and sang the British National Anthem at an MCG Boxing Day Test in front of 70,000 people.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Rob Amos said the event aimed to give businesses a chance to step away from their busy lives and enjoy a night out with their staff and like-minded people.
“The Rochester business community has worked tirelessly to recover from the floods and re-establish themselves and, in some cases, re-think what they do. We want to acknowledge all the hard work and challenges they have faced during this time,” Cr Amos said.
“This event acknowledges all of the hard work that business owners and their staff have put into the recovery effort and supporting one another.
“To ensure all local businesses have the opportunity to attend, tickets will be limited to six per business.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring a coat to keep warm. Light refreshments and soft drinks will be provided.
