Unwavering dedication and commitment, and tireless work behind the scenes to ensure smooth operation and success of Corowa Lawn Tennis Club has led to life membership for Peter Filliponi.
“Whether it be organising events, assisting with administration, providing mentorship to new members or undertaking behind the scenes tasks using his skills and knowledge. Peter has been a cornerstone of our tennis community,” his life membership nominators vice president Janice Cook and committee member Sonya Lane said.
“His passion for Corowa Lawn Tennis Club is evident in every task he undertakes, always approaching duties with professionalism and a positive attitude.”
A steadfast advocate for the club, Peter’s dedication has played a significant role in club growth and development.
Becoming the 17 th Life Member of Corowa Lawn Tennis Club, on September 8, means a lot to Peter. “It’s a great privilege – there’s certainly been a lot of hard work over the years,” the singles club champion in 2009 and still playing A Grade, told The Free Press. “I love the tennis club.”
The 60-year-old was presented with a clock, with plaque to mark his life membership. It’s the second such prestigious recognition for Filliponi who became a Life Member of Buraja Football Club in 2000.
