Into its eighth year, Arts Rutherglen, which coincides with beautiful autumn weather when a plethora of cellar doors and local produce is enjoyed by both locals and visitors, is inviting visual artists, photographers, sculptors and youth to enter the very popular Tastes of Art Prize with $16,350 in prize money!
Organiser Irena Webster said this event has grown in size and popularity with many repeat visitors.
“Often buyers have their favourite artists and will return looking for more works for their walls!” she said.
“We are particularly proud of the exuberant youth award entries.”
The art exhibition and sale is open for 10 days during Rutherglen's annual Tastes of Rutherglen Winemakers festival, making it a highly successful and popular event.
The call for artists is open now and entries close on February, 9 2025.
“We welcome as many people as possible for viewing and purchase,” Ms Webster said.
“With paintings, work on paper, photography, 3D small artwork and youth works, there is much to delight and inspire and buy.
“We are also very excited to announce Corowa Furnishings are generously offering free artwork delivery to our Art Show from two locations in Victoria - Somerton and Mildura.”
This broad spectrum of categories reflects the diverse range of talents that the event attracts, from local heroes to interstate artists.
The support from the community and local businesses has been instrumental in the success of the Art Prize, enabling it to offer a platform for artists and a cultural feast for visitors with organisers hoping the 2025 event is even bigger and better.
