The Community Meals Program is more than just a meal; it’s a way to contribute to a larger purpose and ensure access to affordable and nutritious meals, which is crucial for the well-being of all individuals, especially for those in the aged care and disability sector.
For many, particularly those with limited mobility or resources, preparing meals can be a challenge.
Offering affordable meal options not only provides essential nourishment but also supports dignity and independence.
Proper nutrition is vital for everyone to maintain energy, manage chronic conditions, and support overall health.
Amaranth chef Liam Whyte formerly worked at All Saints Winery, ClubCorowa, Pickled Sisters and Parker Pies and now he’s carefully creating ready-to-eat nutritious meals, frozen to ensure convenience and quality.
“While we are unable to offer a set menu, we provide details at the beginning of each week on the five meals included in the pack,” Liam said.
“Each meal is thoughtfully balanced, incorporating carbohydrates, protein, and vegetables to support a healthy and satisfying diet.
“Our meals are offered via a first in, first served basis.”
Those who have so far taste-tested the meals have given them a resounding thumbs up, praising their deliciousness and quality.
“Whether for convenience or nourishment, our meals are designed to bring comfort and great taste to the community,” Liam said.
“The meals are packaged in take-away containers in individual portions, ready for re-heating.”
