Anyone interested in soccer was welcome to join the friendly, organised by Strike Force Soccer Academy coach Diego Sztejman.
Local players aged 10 and above, both girls and boys, did not let the Christmas and New Year period have any bearing on their growth as soccer players and turned up enthused.
From around 10am, the interested junior soccer players hit the pitch at Deniliquin’s Rotary Park.
The match was played in good spirit and saw plenty of great play from all the children involved, giving a chance to get back into the swing of things for the upcoming season.
Stzejman said it was such a hit, they now aim to host a friendly game at Rotary Park each Saturday during these school holidays, and through term one.
Not only a bit of fun, it will help prepare players for the traditional Deniliquin & District Soccer Association competition, which begins from term two.
“The game is open to all kids, boys and girls, aged 10 and over.
“It’s a great opportunity for the kids to stay active during the holidays and get together with their friends as well as for the parents to join in and have a kick with their kids.
“You do not have to be involved with Strike Force or Deniliquin junior soccer.
“Any kids interested in coming down, from in and around town, are most welcome.”
