People were out and about on Saturday afternoon from 2pm as the Sip and Sounds Festival took over Rochester.

In every corner of Gilles, Moore and Mackay streets, stalls and buskers were set up for festival goers to enjoy.
Children enjoyed a range of activities including face painting, balloon twisting, circus performers and fun hairstyles by Enchanted Rainbow Entertainment.
There were also bubble workshops run by the Bendigo Bubble Man team, which were very popular with the children.
Bendigo Bubble Man helper Elijah Fraser said the activity was very well received by the children.
“Before we could even set up, kids were already going for the tools — we hadn’t even set up the trays yet,” he said.
“They were just so eager to play ... we just love bringing the smiles out of them.”
With the children preoccupied, the adults had the opportunity to enjoy some wine tasting and live music by local and visiting musicians.
Melbourne musician Joseph Lim was one of the festival buskers and only had positive words to share about Rochester by the end of the day.
“This being my first time here, I just wanted to connect with people through the music,” he said.
“There is a lot of potential in this city, I’d love to see it revived. The ambience is great and the people are lovely.
“This has been a great day and I wish I can come back and do it more.”
There was no lack of food for the crowds as Jarmo’s Pizza Truck, Bowser Bean, Rochester Bakery, Rochy Fish Shop and Rochy Pizza kept everyone's stomachs filled.
The Criterion Hotel, Rochy Hotel, Shamrock Hotel and the Wine Tavern were also filled to the brim as many took the chance to enjoy a few cold ones with friends and family.
A nature art workshop hosted by Tina West and a Paint and Sip session with Herb were also popular with the more mature festival goers.
After a successful first event, the organisers are already thinking about next year.
