Now in its 132nd year, the show society and volunteers have been working hard behind the scenes to bring the community together after COVID-19 disruptions.
President Greg Lumby said this weekends show promised to be a great day for all, despite some changes to the show program.
“The Rutherglen Ag Society are pleased to be once again running our two major shows after the two-year interruption caused by Covid-19,” Mr Lumby said.
“While the society is determined to have an ag show again this year, it was obvious due to dwindling volunteers that the show had to be different to past years with no horse events and changes to the pavilion competitions.
“We have poultry and eggs thanks to the support of Breanna Carr of BC Bantams.
“This year’s show also includes the tent pegging competition, a petting zoo, ferret racing, sideshow alley, vintage motorbike show, market stalls, live music and so much more.
“We have more stall holders than ever on the showgrounds along with the usual favourites from past years so there will be plenty to see and do.
“A huge thank you to those businesses and individuals who have supported our show in 2022.
“We are thrilled to welcome O’Connors Case IH as the major sponsor of the show, along with assistance from Agriculture Victoria funding.”
The fun kicks off at 9am on Sunday, October 16 and concludes at 4pm.
