Legacy Albury supports around 45 families and individuals in the Corowa area with welfare, bills, social outings including trips and dinners and referrals for health.
Albury Legacy’s Shane Griffin said the money would Legacy to continue to help local beneficiaries with their health and wellbeing.
“We are extremely grateful to the Corowa RSL Club for this generous grant,” Mr Griffin said.
Corowa RSL Club CEO Mr Peter Norris said the club was “delighted” to support the Albury Legacy Club.
“These ClubGRANTS are just one of the many ways The Corowa RSL Club is able to provide support, services, and facilities for the betterment of our local community,” Mr Norris said.
This week is Legacy Week (August 28-September 3), with locals encouraged to buy a badge or make a donation to support the appeal.
The Legacy Week appeal has been running since the 1940’s and is a time to give back to the families of those who have given so much.
Supporting over 43,000 partners and children of veterans nationally, Legacy Australia will celebrate 100 years in 2023.
This year marks 90 years for Albury Legacy which was formed early in the movement’s history from a meeting in the George Hotel Albury on May 11, 1932.
Today, Albury Legacy support both sides of the Murray River corridor from Corryong to Corowa.
