RSL/Police Legacy golf

In 2021 the local RSL sub-branch approached Victoria Police about making the event a joint venture following the tragic death of four police members on the Eastern Freeway in Melbourne.

Last year’s golf day attracted almost 100 golfers to the Rutherglen Golf Club and raised a total of $8,000 which was divided evenly between the RSL and Victoria Police Legacy organisations.

“It goes towards helping family members that have lost a loved one,” Rutherglen Police Sergeant Brian Curran said. “It is hoped that this year there will be an even better turn out which will help raise up to $10,000.”

The event is a 3 ball Ambrose and the entry fee of $20 per player includes 18 holes of golf and food. There are also great prizes on offer thanks to donations from local businesses. There are many raffle prizes so if you see them for sale in Rutherglen, please give generously.
