The innovative OK2PLAY? technology acts as both a player and staff protection platform, simultaneously providing patrons a simple, judgment free mechanism to request support while in the venue and acting as the first step of recognition and intervention for staff to assess patron welfare.
In simple terms, OK2PLAY? prompts are located throughout the venue. Patrons can respond to the question, “Are you OK2PLAY?” For those who respond yes, the entertainment experience remains unchanged.
If a patron responds no, the system triggers an alert with Corowa RSL senior staff who can then initiate a discreet response to initiate a conversation and assist the patron, linking them with support services in real time.
For clubs like Corowa RSL who pride themselves on caring for their members, guests, staff, and community, OK2PLAY? is a welcome means to ensure a safe and accepting environment that encourages conversations that may be difficult for some.
“For us it is about ensuring that we are providing our community, patrons and members with a safe entertainment venue and ensuring we are a responsible entertainment option,” CEO Peter Norris said.
“To have this tech platform in our Club is something that our staff are really proud of.”
The addition of OK2PLAY? technology ensures Corowa RSL are placed as an employer of choice within the community
“We don’t want to roll along without thinking about the impact the business has on the community. Protecting both our staff and community is vitally important,” Mr Norris said.
“We are a club who supports the community in everything we do and by introducing OK2PLAY? we are strengthening our position as a responsible venue.”
Corowa RSL Club has been a part of the Corowa community for over 80 years.
With beautiful facilities and a growing membership base, the club is a strong supporter of locals in the area.
From being the major sponsor of the football team, to pony club support, funding for the fire brigade, local gardens, Men’s Shed, She Shed, schools and a range of other community organisations, Corowa RSL takes its responsibility to its local community very seriously.
“We have a beautiful venue and to be a sustainable venue, in looking after our people, which is both our customers and our staff, is the driver and the ethos of our Club,” Mr Norris said.
Corowa RSL is one of the first hospitality venues in New South Wales to implement OK2PLAY?, pitting them as one of the more patron-centred venues in the atate.
The land-based protection technology will continue to launch across Australia over coming months.
