The new land at 8 Blair St, Moama, will be part of upgrade plans for Meninya St.
The new car park spaces aim to tackle concerns raised by the community around a lack of car park spaces if the upgrade goes ahead.
The space on Blair St will now add an extra 128 car park spaces which will bring the total number of car park spaces from 526 to 654 in and around Meninya St.
Council purchased the land for $875,000, less than the $930,000 that the land was valued at.

Murray Downs boat ramp funding acquired
An additional $280,000 in funding has been approved to build a formal access road, hardstand area and drainage for the Murray Downs Boat Ramp that is currently in construction.
The boat ramp is almost complete and is set to be open to the public by next month.
The public access road that the developers are building is due to be finished by the end of Christmas and will be the major access point to the boat ramp.
In order to finish up the road works, funding was sought to complete an access road within the reserve.
Murray River councillors saw a need to complete the road in case emergency services need to access the boat ramp.
