All collected coins will be donated to the Australian Lions Childhood Cancer Research Foundation (ALCCRF).
The premise for the Childhood Cancer Research Foundation is – “We believe every child deserves a chance at a healthy life”.
Lions Australia has supported childhood cancer projects for over four decades. Lions member Corrinie Barker encouraged locals to get on board and find coins wherever they can.
“Empty your pockets, check the consoles of your car and help us create a big line of coins down Sanger Street!” she said.
“We are hoping to get the coin trail form the Corowa Bakery all the way up to the bank! Every dollar raised will go directly to the foundation.”
Lions members will also have the barbeque going in Memorial Plaza for anyone wishing to purchase a scrumptious sausage sandwich or two.
Over the years the ALCCRF has raised over $12 million dollars for childhood cancer research and has supported countless Australian organisations leading the fight against childhood cancer.
The foundation was officially established in 2009 with our prime focus being to increase survival rates of childhood cancer by supporting cancer research efforts not just here in Australia, but around the world.
Anyone wishing to join the Lions Club and make a difference in the community is welcome to contact Corrinie on 0407 888 172.
