Both re-elected in the September local government elections, Ruth McRae continues as Mayor after being re-elected unopposed at the first meeting of the new council last week.
Robert Black was also uncontested in the vote for deputy mayor.
They will serve a two-year term.
The duo have lead council since 2017.
Mayor Cr McRae said the group collaborate successfully.
“We’re pretty lucky, we’re a small council, but we work together well,” she said.
“We work really hard to make sure community engagement is where it should be, and hopefully the community appreciate that.”
“As a small council, our community know who they’re voting for, but also hold us accountable and know what we do for the community.”
Cr McRae said she looked forward to the council continuing its work seamlessley, with most of the council makeup being returning councillors.
The only exception is newcomer Hayley Heath.
“Murrumbidgee Council has one new councillor elected to the council, but is pretty much the same team as elected for this term as last term,” Cr McRae said.
“Having a new face at the table is really good.
“I’m confident that Hayley will fit in well. She is very engaged in the Darlington Point community.”
Cr McRae said the incoming Murrumbidgee Council will continue to address many items on the agenda for this term, including roads, water filtration, residential development sales, waste, community attraction, water advocacy, education opportunities and renewable energy challenges.
