Event organiser Tamara Lavis said that while the club has proudly supported Pink Stumps Day for many years previously, it was decided to keep the fundraising efforts local this year.
“We have decided to don the whites and support the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre. It’s an incredible facility that many people in our community rely on,” Ms Lavis said.
After a year of cancelled events, Ms Lavis said the Ladies Day it would be fantastic opportunity for people to catch up with their friends.
“We are encouraging women to get out of the house, grab their friends and have some fun while raising money for a very worthy cause,” she said.
“We will have nibbles, drinks available at the bar, great entertainment by Frederick James and a few raffles on the day.
“There are some great prizes to be won which have been generously donated by local businesses. The support from these businesses has been unbelievable given the year we have all had.”
In conjunction with the event, the Corowa Cricket Club will host an A Grade match against Wodonga Raiders beginning at 11:30am.
“It will be good to see the boys playing at a new level now that they have joined the provincial competition,” Ms Lavis said.
“It will be a great day and the new grounds and facilities look amazing. We are looking forward to seeing everyone there”
