Members enjoyed a mouth-watering Christmas in July themed lunch as they celebrated their third changeover since forming the club in 2018.
“It’s been a great day with lots of laughs. We have all had a lot of fun,” President Nicky Ross told the Free Press.
Ms Ross will once again serve as president with the 2021-22 office bearers being Colleen Batten (secretary), Chris Kent (treasurer), Jenny Doody (club correspondent), Lesley Starr (social convenor), Noreen Miller (international service), Gena Bednarski (club historian) and Tessa Crowe (cord blood co-ordinator).
Over the last twelve months, the IWCCD had a busy year of club outings as well as volunteer service to the Corowa Food Bowl, gathering snippets from the Free Press to enlarge for residents of Karinya Nursing Home and reading to kindergarten children and Corowa Primary School.
The club also had a successful year in fundraising for Sean’s Two for 10 for Cord Blood ($4018), Mother’s Day pizza and movie night ($1491.45), Wise Choices for Life ($100) and Inala Lodge Emergency Housing ($100).
Last Thursday, thirty-six members including six from the Yarrawonga Mulwala Inner Wheel Club joined in on the changeover festivities in the beautifully decorated room at the Corowa Golf Club.
President Nicky Ross thanked the outgoing committee for their dedication and service to the club despite a difficult year navigating through COVID-19, before inducting the new office bearers.
“We are all looking forward to the new year and making a difference in the community,” she said.
“This year we welcomed 11 new members to our club. It’s great to see the growth and new friendships formed.”
Inner Wheel one of the largest women’s organisations in the world with three main objectives; to promote true friendship, encourage the ideals of personal service, and foster international understanding.
