Howlong Industrial land sales positive

There were three Lots in the estate that were excluded from the original council resolution due to entering into a pre-emption agreement with the Staughton Group.

The right of pre-emption was not entered into with the Staughton Group and as result council have three additional Lots available for sale to the general public.

Council has received an offer on one of these newly available Lots: Lot 107, 51-52 Oolong Road, Howlong.

Council authorised the Common Seal of Council be to affixed to the Contracts of Sale and associated documents for sale of Lot 106, Lot 107 and Lot 108 Oolong Road Howlong subject to achieving a sale price of $55m2 plus GST, at its latest monthly meeting on August 29.

Cr David Longley described the sales to date as “very positive”. “It shows a lot of interest in the future of Howlong,” the town-based councillor said.

“It will create jobs in the town and consequently attract people to the town. The long-term is fantastic.”
