In other news, Federation Council has been successful in securing $15,000 grant funding to assist in delivering the Australia Day 2025 event at Howlong on Sunday, January 26.
Council’s original budget included an allocation of $10,000 matched by $10,000 in anticipated income via grant funding, as advised at council’s December meeting.
In line with the funding agreement, council’s contribution is reduced to $5,000.
This allocated grant funding therefore comprises: $10,000 base grant to assist event organisers in delivering inclusive Australia Day events; $5,000 additional grant to support events that incorporate significant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander elements.
The Federation Community will come together for a free Australia Day event, featuring: Australia Day Awards to recognise local achievements, a Citizenship Ceremony to welcome new Australians and a community lunch celebrating bush tucker, alongside live entertainment.
