“How are the scarecrows coming along?” she asks of showgoers.
“Looking forward to seeing some creative and interesting scarecrows.”
You may bring them down to the showgrounds on Friday afternoon, Saturday or Sunday the day of the show, no later than 11.00 am. They will then be judged and displayed.
Something new and should be a bit of fun relates to a rooster crowing competition.
“We are inviting girls and boys six-years and over to enter the Rooster Crowing competition and give us their impression of a rooster crowing!,” Jan added.
“A prize will be awarded to the best girl and boy rooster crowers.
“This competition will be held just after the Showgirl/boy competition in front of the grandstand at about 1.45 pm after we have watched Lachie Quonoey do tricks with his whip cracking. So get some practice in before the show!”
The Showgirl/boy competition will be held at 1.00pm in the grandstand and you can register for this event in front of the Secretary’s Office between 11.30am and 12.30pm. Pease, it is not a fashion parade with tiaras, gloves and pretty frilly dresses, the judges are looking for kids dressed as though they are going to a country show, wearing sturdy shoes and shady hats.
Lachie Quonoey is performing with his whip cracking and it was advertised that Elise O’Bryan would be joining in. Unfortunately Elise has had an accident which has left her unable to perform, she along with those at the show are disappointed that she won’t be appearing.
“So much else is happening,” Jan said.
“Bernadette Woodward’s music students are performing at 11.00 am, come along and listen to these young entertainers.
“Sing Australia will be singing at 12 noon - come and listen, and get toe tapping! Snazzy Snaps will be there with a photo booth and you will be able to take instant photos of yourself and friends.”
There is so much more, Balloonatic Bruce with two magic shows, and balloon modelling, face painting, Reptiles on the Go - where you will learn about reptiles plus have photos taken with them.
Get hold of a schedule - they are at Craft Junction, Gyles Newsagency and Painters Café, and have a look at what you would like to enter into the many sections in the Main Pavilion, Art Pavilion and also, if you have chickens, have a look at the Poultry Section. Only 60 cents to enter and entries close this Friday at 4.00am.
“Also have a look at our webpage www.corowashow.com the Schedule and Horse Schedule are on the page and you can put your entries in via email,” Jan encourages.
“Hope to see you there.”
Showbags, show rides, stalls, food stalls, it will all be happening and the cost to Corowa Show is only for $5.00 for adults, $2.00 for 6 – 16 years and free to children under 6.
