The new name reflects the club's evolution as a welcoming space for residents and visitors alike to relax, unwind, and celebrate.
The decision to rebrand is part of the club's ongoing efforts to enhance its services to the town. Notably, the recent upgrades to the reception area have already improved the overall experience for members and guests.
The change in name aims to eliminate confusion, particularly among visiting RSL members from other states, who were under the impression that the club operated solely as an RSL establishment.
“Despite the RSL selling the Club back to its members over forty years ago, the name was never changed to reflect this,” CEO Peter Norris said.
“In the past, this has created considerable confusion, particularly amongst visiting RSL members from other states that our current structure does not support.”
The name change was the result of extensive discussions between Club Corowa and the Corowa RSL Sub-Branch, which worked closely together throughout the process to determine the best course of action for their members.
The collaboration between the two entities has been exemplary, with the Corowa RSL Sub-Branch expressing its gratitude for the club's support.
"We have an excellent relationship with both Peter and the Board, and they have been so supportive in everything that we do. The club has recently provided us with a new space for our Sub-Branch, and our members could not be happier," Corowa RSL Sub-Branch President Lesley Rinehart said.
Despite the name change, the Corowa RSL Sub-Branch will continue to operate in the same manner as before, ensuring the continuity of its services. Visitors to Club Corowa will not notice any changes to the current sub-branch structure.
"We are really excited about the name change and are looking forward to bringing people together under our new name, further cementing our commitment to the community,“ Mr Norris said.
“The updates to Club Corowa will happen progressively over the next 12 months. However, members will start to see some changes over the next month.”
In addition to the name change, members can expect an updated logo that represents a modern portrayal of community and connection. The new logo will be introduced in the coming months, aligning with Club Corowa's renewed identity.
As Club Corowa embarks on this transformative journey, it aims to foster a stronger sense of belonging and unity among its members and the wider community. The rebranding signifies a renewed dedication to creating a vibrant and inclusive gathering place that celebrates the region and its people.
