A morning tea was held and supported by the Corowa LHAC to celebrate the special week. Nurse Practitioner Week is a dedicated time to recognise the invaluable contributions of Nurse Practitioners across Australia while celebrating their achievements and advocating for their continued growth and recognition.
In attendance were Cath Brooks – Corowa Cluster Rural Generalist Transitional Nurse Practitioner and Emma Harrison – Corowa Emergency Transitional Nurse Practitioner with apologies from Nicole Fenner and Peter Thompson both Nurse Practitioners at Red Gum Medical Centre.
In attendance was Chair of the Corowa LHAC Anne Westcott as well as other members of the LHAC along with the community and staff from Corowa Health Service.
Attendees to the morning celebration enjoyed a delicious barbecue and morning tea while they celebrated and recognised the fantastic work of nurse practitioners.

Bingo for charity
Friends of the Corowa Hospital and Nursing Home Inc. would like to remind everyone that Cash Bingo is held on Thursday nights at 7:30 pm at Club Corowa, and Charity Bingo takes place on Friday afternoons at 2:00pm, also at Club Corowa. All proceeds from both events go directly to support the Corowa Hospital and Nursing Home. New members are always welcome to join us in raising funds for this important cause.
Corowa Christmas Dinner Dance

Amaranth Foundation seeking gifts
Amaranth is seeking donations of new toys, games, and clothing for children aged 1 to 15 years this holiday season. Donations will be accepted through to December 19, with all items going to brighten the holidays for families in need. Community members are encouraged to contribute and help spread joy during this special time of year.
Aqua classes popular
Aqua exercise classes in the Corowa Aquatic Centre heated pool are proving popular. Operating under the NSW Department of Health in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District, in the HAPI program (Healthy Ageing Programs for Independence), those participating have noticed their fitness levels improving and more classes are being added. On Tuesday, December 10, Instructor Liz Seeliger provided her 100th class for 2024.
The classes run for 1 hour each. A total of 1680 participants have attended so far this year. Come along and join in the fun and fitness.
