The group set off from Devenish and finished under the Clydesdales mural in Goorambat.
Pony club secretery Lynda Burley said the trail ride marked the group’s end-of-year break-up and was special for several reasons.
“After soldiering on with trying conditions that COVID has thrown at us all we were able to conduct COVID-safe rallies throughout the past couple of years,” Ms Weeks said.
“This meant that BPC only missed a couple of rallies due to the hard lockdown rules and we were lucky enough to conduct our December, rally once again in the form of the silo art trail ride.
“(Sunday’s) ride was the brainchild of two executive committee members, our treasurer Jack Gall and president Tim Ward.
“When these two have an idea, they really mean business and they really do ‘make things happen’.
“Their ideas were shared with our new vibrant committee who supported them all the way, which enabled our kids to enjoy this unique ride.
“The trail was carefully marked out by our very own Jack Gall, also a local farmer in the area, that took us along safe routes on back roads and through private properties, which lead us back into town to end at the Goorambat silos.
“This activity would not have gone ahead without the foresight in organising such an event and with the input and hard work as well as local knowledge of Jack and Tim.
“A huge thanks and shout out to Jack and Tim... (for) organising... this unique ride.”
After having photos taken in front of the Devenish silo art, riders weaved their way along back roads and paddocks until they reached the infamous Clydesdale horses at the Goorambat silos.
The, almost 50, riders then proceeded to the sports ground where the Goorambat Football Netball Club put on lunch.
“It was... important for our local club to give back to and support another local club,” Ms Weeks said.
“Another special part of the day was to celebrate, acknowledge, and thank four important people that have been a huge part, and major contributors, to our club over many years.
“They were proudly inducted as BPC Life Members. We welcomed and congratulated two husband and wife teams, Ron and Annette Waddell as well as Pete and Beth Smith.
“Both families have been outstanding contributors to our club over time ensuring that the young up-and-coming riders have the amazing facilities and equipment that we have today.
“Lots of behind-the-scenes work and many long voluntary hours are put into a club to be successful, and we thank them all very much.”
BPC caters for riders of all abilities and for ages up to 26.
It offers quality instructors in many disciplines with high-standard facilities including undercover arena, sand arenas, cross country course and grassed ovals.
The club is rapidly growing and Ms Weeks said it always welcomed inquiries from new riders and their families.
“In the coming new year we stand to gain quite a few new members and look forward to welcoming them,” she said.
