The Morundah local has operated the Morundah Hotel for the past 25 years his partner Suzanne and is listed as number two on Patrick Bourke's ticket.
“Morundah is a small village in the Northern end of Federation Council local government area, 140 kilometres from Corowa,” Mr Fahey said.
“I have known Pat for many years and we are both passionate about getting the right outcome for residents and ratepayers. Although we may be on a ticket, we both have our own individual views and opinions.”
Mr Fahey has been a local government councillor for the past 17 years, firstly on the Urana Shire Council, and then after amalgamations on Narrandera Shire Council where he owns property.
“I believe I am an effective councillor, and along with completing many short courses in local government over many years, I have successfully completed a master’s degree in Local Government at the University of Technology, Sydney, with distinction in 2019,” he said.
“I have had 8 years’ experience as a Deputy Mayor and have many networks throughout the local government sector, I also know many sitting members of parliament, both state and federal, and have a good repoire with them.
“I understand the processes and procedures of local government, understand budgets and integrated planning and reporting. In other words, I have the knowledge, experience and networks to hit the ground running as a local government councillor for Federation Council.”
Mr Fahey said it was important residents consider experience and knowledge of issue when casting their vote.
“The only thing that I can promise you is that with my skills and experience that I will properly consider all issues that come before council,” he said.
“I do not have any pet projects and look at the local government area of Federation as a whole shire, not north and south.
“I am number 2 in Group A along with your sitting Mayor, Pat Bourke. I ask that you vote 1, group “A’ above the line.”
